AMFELTEC Corporation Launches PCI Express Cable Extender
TORONTO — October 27, 2008 — AMFELTEC Corporation, a leading provider of equipment dedicated to hardware/software development and electronic design manufacturing, has launched its PCI Express Cable Extender. The PCI Express Cable Extender supports plug-in x1 PCI express cards and connects to the host computer via standard CAT6 cable and PCI express host card.
PCI Express extenders are popular devices for debugging and verifying add-in PCI express cards. Extenders provide a PCI express platform that allows easy access to the logic signals on the board, overcurrent protection and hot swap capability. The AMFELTEC PCI Express Cable Extender introduces several additional futures over existing extenders:
* Mechanical stabilization (US Patent 7,255,570) for add-in PCI express card
* Easy access to the PCI express JTAG signals enables support for plug-in JTAG emulators or AMFELTEC Easy Loader™ for programming/loading CPLD/FPGA on add-in cards during production/development cycle
